Buck TaylorI am an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Portland, where I teach organic chemistry. My research group studies organometallic catalysis using computational and experimental techniques. We develop more efficient catalysts that can be used to synthesize a variety of products, from chiral drugs to feedstock chemicals from biomass.
Prior to coming to UP, I taught chemistry at Carleton College in Minnesota, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Houk group at UCLA. I did my graduate work in the Jarvo group at UC Irvine, where I developed nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. EducationPostdoctoral Fellow, UCLA, 2012-2015
